We only had less than 5 hours in Marseille as it was just our transit point before heading back to Grenoble from Cannes. So I followed the advise of a few travel websites: if I don't have time in Marseille, forget about anything else, immediately head towards Les Calanques. And that was exactly what I did. After gathering how to get there, we took metro and 2 buses and promptly reached Les Calanques de Callelongue within an hour. Les Calanques basically refer to a geologic formation in the form of a deep valley, typically with steep sides (see Wikipedia for more information =p).
L-R: Les Calanques de Callelongue, can you see a naked woman?
The hiking trail was at times tough and dangerous. As we did not have much time, we did not go all the way to the other end of the calanques. Standing by the vast sea makes you realise that the world is so huge and you are really nothing in this world.
